Please read these Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) carefully before using the Love4Cars website and application (the “Service”), operated by Love4Cars (“we,” “us,” or “our”).

By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Description of the Service

Love4Cars is a vehicle service tracking application that allows users to:

•      Log and store vehicle service history

•      Upload and parse service receipts using AI

•      Generate cost estimates for vehicle services

•      Generate maintenance schedules for their vehicles

•      View aggregated, anonymized community pricing data

The Service is currently only intended for users in the United States of America.

2. Eligibility and Account Registration

You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service. When you create an account, you agree to provide accurate and complete information and to keep your account credentials secure. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.

3. Intellectual Property Rights

Our Intellectual Property

We are the owner of all intellectual property rights in the Service, including its source code, databases, functionality, software, design, text, graphics, and logos (collectively, the “Content”), as well as the Love4Cars name, logo, and related marks (the “Marks”). The Content and Marks are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

Your License to Use the Service

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Service for your personal, non-commercial use only. Except as expressly permitted in these Terms, you may not copy, reproduce, distribute, modify, create derivative works from, publicly display, sell, license, or otherwise exploit any part of the Content or Marks without our prior written permission.

This license does not include any right to use the Service for commercial purposes, to resell access to the Service, or to build a competing product or service using the Service, its underlying data, or its functionality. See Section 7 below for further restrictions on commercial use and competitive use.

4. Cost Estimates Are Not Guarantees

Cost estimates provided through the Service are for informational purposes only and are not a guarantee, quote, or binding price of any kind.

•      Estimates are generated using a combination of artificial intelligence and aggregated community pricing data submitted by users

•      Actual prices for parts, labor, and services vary significantly by location, shop, vehicle condition, and other factors outside of our control

•      Different repair shops may charge substantially different amounts for the same service

•      You should always confirm actual pricing directly with a qualified repair shop or mechanic before proceeding with any service

•      Love4Cars is not responsible for any discrepancy between an estimate provided through the Service and the actual cost you are charged by a third party

5. Maintenance Schedules Are Guidance Only

Maintenance schedules generated through the Service, including those reviewed or verified by community reviewers, are provided as general and/or additional guidance only and do not replace your vehicle manufacturer's official maintenance recommendations.

•      Maintenance schedules are generated using artificial intelligence, supplemented in some cases by review from Love4Cars community members

•      While we and our community of reviewers make reasonable efforts to ensure accuracy, we do not guarantee that any maintenance schedule is complete, accurate, or appropriate for your specific vehicle

•      A “Verified” badge on a maintenance schedule indicates that the schedule has been reviewed by a Love4Cars reviewer, but this review does not constitute a professional mechanical inspection or certification, and does not guarantee the schedule is error-free or suitable for your particular vehicle's condition, history, or driving conditions

•      You should always consult your vehicle's owner's manual and a qualified mechanic for the maintenance requirements specific to your vehicle

Love4Cars is not liable for any vehicle damage, mechanical failure, safety issue, or other harm that results from following, relying on, or failing to follow a maintenance schedule generated through the Service.

6. User Content

Content You Submit

You retain ownership of the content you submit to the Service, including receipt images, service records, and vehicle information (“User Content”). By submitting User Content, you grant Love4Cars a license to use, store, process, and display that content for the purpose of operating and improving the Service, including using anonymized and aggregated pricing data to improve estimates for the broader community, as described in our Privacy Policy.

Accuracy of Content

You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you submit, including service records, vehicle details, and any edits made to AI-generated content. Love4Cars is not responsible for decisions made based on inaccurate information that you or another user has submitted.

Community Reviewers

Some users may be granted “Reviewer” or “Admin” status, allowing them to review and verify maintenance schedules submitted by the community. Reviewers act on a voluntary basis. Love4Cars does not guarantee the qualifications, certifications, or expertise of any individual reviewer, and reviewer edits do not constitute professional mechanical or automotive advice.

7. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

•      Use the Service for any unlawful purpose

•      Upload false, misleading, or fraudulent service records or receipts

•      If granted reviewer access, you agree not to knowingly verify incorrect service schedules or falsify them

•      Use the Service, its data, or its functionality for any commercial purpose, or to develop, operate, or support a product or service that competes with Love4Cars, without our prior written consent

•      Systematically retrieve, scrape, or copy data from the Service to create or compile a database, dataset, or directory

•      Attempt to interfere with, disrupt, or gain unauthorized access to the Service or its underlying systems

•      Use automated means (bots, scrapers, etc.) to access the Service without our prior written consent

•      Decompile, reverse engineer, or disassemble any part of the Service except as permitted by applicable law

•      Impersonate another person or entity

•      Upload content that infringes on the intellectual property or privacy rights of others

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

8. AI-Generated Content Disclaimer

The Service uses artificial intelligence to parse receipts, generate cost estimates, and create maintenance schedules. AI-generated content may contain errors, inaccuracies, or omissions. You are responsible for reviewing and confirming the accuracy of any AI-generated content before relying on it, including receipt data before it is saved to your account.

9. No Professional Advice

The Service does not provide professional automotive, mechanical, financial, or legal advice. Information provided through the Service, including cost estimates and maintenance schedules, should not be treated as a substitute for consultation with a qualified, licensed professional.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that:

•      The Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure

•      Any estimates, schedules, or other content generated through the Service will be accurate, complete, or reliable

•      Defects will be corrected

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, LOVE4CARS AND ITS OPERATORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

•      Vehicle damage, mechanical failure, or safety issues resulting from reliance on cost estimates or maintenance schedules

•      Financial loss resulting from discrepancies between estimated and actual costs

•      Loss of data, including service records or receipt images

•      Any damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Service

IN NO EVENT SHALL LOVE4CARS' TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU HAVE PAID, IF ANY, TO USE THE SERVICE IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages, so some of the above limitations may not apply to you.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Love4Cars and its operators from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable attorney's fees) arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of a third party.

13. Account Termination

You may delete your account at any time through your account settings, which will permanently remove your personal data as described in our Privacy Policy.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at our discretion, including for violation of these Terms, without prior notice.

14. Changes to the Service

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service, or any part of it, at any time without notice. We are not liable for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the Service.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.

16. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Virginia, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

17. Dispute Resolution

Informal Negotiations

To expedite resolution and control the cost of any dispute, controversy, or claim related to these Terms (each a “Dispute”) brought by either you or us, the parties agree to first attempt to negotiate any Dispute informally for at least 30 days before initiating arbitration. Informal negotiations begin upon written notice from one party to the other.

Binding Arbitration

If the parties are unable to resolve a Dispute through informal negotiations, the Dispute will be finally and exclusively resolved through binding arbitration, rather than in court, except as set out under “Exceptions” below.

YOU UNDERSTAND THAT WITHOUT THIS PROVISION, YOU WOULD HAVE THE RIGHT TO SUE IN COURT AND HAVE A JURY TRIAL.

The arbitration will be commenced and conducted under the rules of a recognized arbitration organization (such as the American Arbitration Association) applicable to consumer disputes. The arbitration may be conducted in person, by submission of documents, by phone, or online. The arbitrator must follow applicable law, and any award may be challenged if the arbitrator fails to do so. Except as otherwise required by applicable law, arbitration will take place in Fairfax County, Virginia.

Class Action Waiver

Any arbitration or proceeding under these Terms shall be limited to the Dispute between you and Love4Cars individually. To the fullest extent permitted by law, no arbitration or proceeding shall be joined with any other, there is no right for any Dispute to be arbitrated or litigated on a class-action basis, and there is no right for any Dispute to be brought in a representative capacity on behalf of the general public or any other persons.

Exceptions

The parties agree that the following Disputes are not subject to the above provisions concerning informal negotiations and binding arbitration: (a) any Dispute seeking to enforce or protect, or concerning the validity of, either party's intellectual property rights; (b) any Dispute related to allegations of theft, piracy, or unauthorized use; and (c) any claim for injunctive relief. If a Dispute falls into one of these exceptions and proceeds in court, it will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Fairfax Country, Virginia, and you consent to personal jurisdiction and venue there.

Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Love4Cars (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our website and application (the “Service”).

1. Information We Collect

Information You Provide Directly

•      Account information: name and email address when you register, either directly or through Google Sign-In

•      Vehicle information: make, model, year, color, VIN, and mileage that you enter or that we retrieve from public vehicle databases

•      Service records: garage name, location, date, mileage, and cost details for services you log

•      Receipt images: photos or PDF files of service receipts that you upload

•      Communications: any information you provide when contacting us for support

Information Collected Automatically

•      Usage data: pages visited, features used, and general interaction with the Service

•      Device information: browser type, operating system, and device type, collected for the purpose of providing and improving the Service

Information from Third-Party Sign-In

If you sign in using Google, we receive your name and email address from Google as part of the authentication process. We do not receive your Google password or access other Google account data.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

•      Create and maintain your account

•      Provide the core functionality of the Service, including receipt parsing, service history tracking, cost estimation, and maintenance schedule generation

•      Process receipt images using AI to extract service details (see Section 4 below)

•      Send you service-related communications, including account confirmations, password resets, and notifications about your vehicles (which you can opt out of in your account settings)

•      Improve and develop new features for the Service

•      Maintain the security and integrity of the Service

•      Respond to your support requests

3. Community Data and Aggregation

Love4Cars uses anonymized, aggregated pricing data from service records submitted by our user community to improve cost estimates for all users. This means:

•      When line item prices from your service records are used to calculate estimates for other users, this data is aggregated by service category and vehicle type, not tied to your individual identity

•      No personally identifying information (your name, email, specific vehicle, or account) is shared as part of this aggregated data

•      You cannot be identified from the pricing data used in community estimates

4. AI Processing

Love4Cars uses artificial intelligence (via Anthropic's Claude API) in the following ways:

•      Receipt parsing: when you upload a receipt image or PDF, it is sent to our AI processing service to extract pertinent information. You review and confirm this information before it is saved.

•      Cost estimates and maintenance schedules: your vehicle's make, model, and year, along with aggregated community pricing data, are sent to our AI processing service to generate estimates and schedules.

Data sent for AI processing is used solely to generate the requested output and is subject to Anthropic's own data handling practices for API usage, which does not include using your data to train their models.

5. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

The Service uses only the cookies and similar technologies necessary for it to function — for example, to keep you signed in and to remember your session. We do not use advertising cookies, third-party ad trackers, or cross-site tracking technologies, and we do not sell or share your information with ad networks.

Most browsers let you block or delete cookies through their settings. Since the Service relies on cookies to keep you signed in, blocking them may prevent you from using core features of the Service.

6. How We Store and Protect Your Information

•      Your data is stored using Supabase, a secure database and file storage provider

•      Receipt images are stored in a private storage bucket accessible only to your account

•      We use industry-standard security practices, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and access controls, to protect your information

•      Passwords are never stored in plain text and are handled securely through our authentication provider

While we take reasonable steps to protect your information, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information.

We may share your information only in the following circumstances:

•      Service providers: with third-party providers who help us operate the Service. These providers are contractually obligated to protect your information and use it only for the purposes we specify.

•      Legal requirements: if required to do so by law, or in response to valid legal requests by public authorities

•      Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, in which case we will notify you before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy

•      With your consent: for any other purpose disclosed to you at the time we collect the information

8. International Data Transfers

The Service is operated in, and intended for use within, the United States, and our service providers store and process data in the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your country. By using the Service, you consent to this transfer.

9. Your Rights and Choices

You have the right to:

•      Access and update your account information at any time through your Profile settings

•      Export your data, including your full service history and receipt images, using the export feature available in your account

•      Opt out of check-in email notifications at any time in your account settings

•      Delete your account, which will permanently remove your personal information, vehicles, service records, and receipt images from our systems. This action cannot be undone.

10. U.S. State Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under state privacy laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), the Virginia Consumer Data Protection Act (VCDPA), the Colorado Privacy Act (CPA), the Connecticut Data Privacy Act (CTDPA), and the Utah Consumer Privacy Act (UCPA). Where these laws apply, they generally give you the right to:

•      Know what personal information we have collected about you

•      Access a copy of your personal information

•      Correct inaccurate personal information

•      Delete your personal information

•      Opt out of the sale of your personal information, or its use for targeted advertising

•      Not be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights

We do not sell your personal information and do not use it for targeted advertising.

You can exercise your access, correction, deletion, and portability rights directly from your Profile settings (edit your information, export your data, or delete your account), or by emailing us at contact@love4carsapp.com. We will respond to verifiable requests within the timeframe required by applicable law. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may have the right to appeal by contacting us at the same email address, or to lodge a complaint with your state's Attorney General.

11. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal information, vehicle data, service records, and receipt images are permanently deleted from our systems. Aggregated, anonymized pricing data that has already been incorporated into community estimates may be retained, as it does not identify you.

12. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to individuals under the age of 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 18, we will take steps to delete it.

13. Third-Party Sign-In Services

If you choose to sign in using Google, your use of that service is also subject to Google's own privacy policy. We encourage you to review it.

14. Do Not Track

Some browsers offer a “Do Not Track” (DNT) signal. There is currently no industry-standard way to respond to DNT signals, so the Service does not currently respond to them. As noted in Section 5, we do not use advertising or cross-site tracking technologies regardless of your browser's DNT setting.

15. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by updating the “Last Updated” date at the top of this policy. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
